Davey hastily unstrapped his upper body from his sleeping mat, rolled over, and sat up to peer out the port window. The ship had entered orbit last night just one hour after his bedtime but Mama, Ima, and Abuela had all said he couldn't stay up late to watch. So unfair. He didn't want to miss a second of orbiting a new planet now that he was up again.
He slide his feet out from under the blanket attached to the end of his bed/bunk/platform-thing and tucked them under himself, never taking his eyes off the immense ocean coming up as the planet turned. It was so blue. It was hard to believe there was so much water; back home water was always carefully channeled. From up here, it looked so spread out.
Ima had said they were going to visit the original planet in the solar system, the one her Ima and Aba, and Abuela, and Mamma’s Papi had been born on, before they'd all come out to the best place in the system, Calisto station on Titan. Mamma had said it was going to be very heavy on planet, that he'd feel tired for a long time, until he got used to the gravity. Davey just hoped they'd get to fly through some weather on the shuttle ride down. Maybe through a hurricane!
